Na podstawie piśmiennictwa oraz własnych przypadków klinicznych przedstawiono problem występowania zębów dwoistych w uzębieniu mlecznym. Zwrócono uwagę na etiologię i częstość występowania tej nieprawidłowości. Obecność mlecznych zębów dwoistych może być związana z różnego rodzaju powikłaniami, takimi jak próchnica, stan zapalny dziąseł, utrudniona eksfoliacja czy anomalie w uzębieniu stałym, dlatego bardzo ważne są działania profilaktyczno-lecznicze.

The incidence of double teeth in the deciduous dentition is discussed on the basis of the literature and on the author’s own clinical cases. Attention is given to the aetiology and incidence of this defect. The presence of double deciduous teeth may be connected with various types of complications such as caries, gingival inflammation, difficult exfoliation or anomalies in the permanent dentition. It is, therefore, very important that preventive and treatment measures are undertaken.
