W ostatnich 5 latach proces kontraktowania rodzaju świadczeń zdrowotnych „leczenie stomatologiczne” podlegał istotnym zmianom. W odróżnieniu od innych rodzajów świadczeń, np. leczenia szpitalnego, ze względu na dominujący udział świadczeniodawców niepublicznych w stomatologii, wprowadzane zmiany nie były dostrzegane przez społeczeństwo, akceptujące istnienie dopłat do wielu świadczeń stomatologicznych i nieorientujące się w przyczynach aktualnego kształtu rynku usług stomatologicznych. Proces kontraktowania świadczeń na rok 2011 i lata następne może zmienić zasadniczo układ na tym rynku.

Over the last five years the type of health services “dental treatment” have undergone significant change in the contracting process. In contrast to other types of service e.g. hospital treatment, due to the high level of private contractors in dentistry, the introduction of changes has not been noticed by the community, accepting the existence of additional payments for many dental treatments and they are not orientated as to the causes of the current shape of the dental services market. The process of contracting services for 2011 and subsequent years may fundamentally change the set-up in this market.
