W pracy przedstawiono przypadek 28- letniej pacjentki cierpiącej na bóle okolicy stawów skroniowo-żuchwowych, obustronne trzaski w stawach skroniowo-żuchwowych, wzmożone napięcie mięśni narządu żucia oraz niemożność szerokiego otwarcia ust. Po wnikliwej diagnostyce z wykorzystaniem badania podmiotowego i przedmiotowego i wykonaniu zdjęć rentgenowskich chorą zakwalifikowano do zabiegów fizjoterapeutycznych oraz leczenia szyną okluzyjną. W artykule przedstawiono kolejne etapy terapii oraz sposób wykonania szyny zwarciowej.
The study describes a case of a 28-year-old female patient suffering from pain in the region of the temporomandibular joints, bilateral clicking in the joints, increased tension of the chewing muscles and trismus. After thorough diagnosis including patient history and clinical examination and radiographs, the patient was qualified for physiotherapeutic procedures and treatment with an occlusal splint. The article describes the further stages of treatment and the way of constructing an occlusal splint.
