W ostatnich kilkudziesięciu latach nastąpił gwałtowny rozwój wiedzy na temat problematyki dysfunkcji układu ruchowego narządu żucia i związanych z nimi zaburzeń czynności stawów skroniowo-żuchwowych oraz mięśni układu stomatognatycznego. W pracy przedstawiono możliwości wykorzystania terapii manualnej i autoterapii u osób z zaburzeniami w obrębie głowy oraz kręgosłupa szyjnego.

Over the last dozen or so years, there has been a rapid development of knowledge regarding the subject of dysfunction of the stomatognathic motor system. Connected with this are functional disorders of the temporomandibular joints and the muscles of the stomatognathic system. The study describes the possibilities of using manual therapy and autotherapy in individuals with disturbances in the region of the head and cervical spine.
