Streszczenie
Z publikowanych badań i statystyk szpitalnych wynika, iż w ostatnich latach narasta wśród młodzieży zjawisko zachowań autodestrukcyjnych, dotyczących różnych obszarów ciała, w tym również narządu żucia. Znajomość etiologii i czynników wyzwalających powoduje, że wizyta stomatologiczna często stanowi ważny moment diagnostyczny dla wielu pacjentów.
Celem pracy było przedstawienie przypadku pacjenta, który dokonał autoekstrakcji 6 zębów stałych.
Lekarzy w trakcie badania stomatologicznego powinny zaniepokoić wszelkie zmiany o nietypowym charakterze, lokalizacji lub nieadekwatne do wieku pacjenta, mogące świadczyć o istniejącym problemie samouszkodzeń.
Abstract
From published studies and hospital statistics it appears that over recent years there has been developing amongst youth the phenomenon of self-destructive behaviour that affects various parts of the body, including the chewing apparatus. Knowledge of the aetiology and factors means that a visit to the dentist is often an important diagnostic moment for many patients.
The aim of the study was to present a case of a patient, who carried out self-extraction of 6 permanent teeth.
Dentists during dental examinations should be made uneasy by all changes of untypical character, localization or inappropriate for the age of the patent, that could be evidence of an existing problem of self-mutilation.
