Abstract
Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) significantly affects the quality of life of modern population, and physicians who are most able to recognize it are orthodontists. The orthodontic treatment may increase, decrease or maintain the volume of the upper airways, and for this reason a properly planned therapeutic process plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of OSAS. The authors of the article, based on the literature, discuss the issue of the best way to treat orthodontic patients suffering from OSAS or with the risk of its occurrence.
