Use of a rotated palatal pedicle connective tissue flap for closure of an oroantral communication – case report

Streszczenie
Brak odpowiedniego zaopatrzenia połączenia ustno-zatokowego skutkuje powstaniem wynabłonkowanej przetoki i rozwojem stanu zapalnego w zatoce szczękowej. Stosowane powszechnie metody plastyki wykorzystujące policzkowe i podniebienne płaty pełnej grubości pozostawiają w operowanym miejscu defekty tkanek miękkich, powodując bolesny proces gojenia. Metoda wykorzystująca rotowany płat tkanki łącznej z okostną podniebienia gwarantuje zamknięcie defektu kostnego, nie zmieniając negatywnie warunków anatomicznych dziąsła.
Abstract
The lack of proper procedure in case of oroantral communication results in fistula creation and further maxillary sinus inflammation. Commonly used surgical methods, based on buccal and palatal full-thickness flaps leave different tissue defects and are severe in healing. The method using rotated palatal periosteum and connective tissue flap ensures osseous defect closing without anatomical negative changes of gingiva.
