Streszczenie
Celem pracy jest omówienie zasad profilaktyki profesjonalnej w gabinecie stomatologicznym u osób dorosłych. Dorośli wymagają specyficznych działań związanych z wieloma problemami, tj. częstymi chorobami dziąseł, przyzębia, próchnicą korzenia, brakami w uzębieniu, obniżeniem wysokości zwarcia, zmianami w stawach skroniowo-żuchwowych. Osoby te często cierpią na schorzenia ogólne, zażywają leki, są mniej sprawne, wymagają odpowiednich metod profilaktycznych adekwatnych do swojego wieku i stanu jamy ustnej.

Abstract
The purpose of the work is to discuss the base of professional prevention in a dental office for adults. Adults require specific actions associated with many problems, i.e. frequent gums, periodontitis, root caries, missing teeth, reduced occlusal height, and changes in the temporomandibular joints. These people often suffer from general illnesses, take medications, are less fit, require appropriate preventive methods adequate to their age and oral condition.
