Abstract
Vitamin D is responsible for the correct course of many physiological processes in human’s organism and is a vital component of immune response. Concerning deficiency can cause both system diseases and stomatitis. Furthermore it has been observed that there exists a correlation between low level of vitamin D and increased morbidity rate for COVID-19. Calcitriol participates in wounds healing and alveolar bone loss process. The point of our work was to discuss vitamin D’s role in periodontitis and periimplantitis pathomechanism.
