Celem pracy była ocena zmian profilu struktur kostnych czaszki w wyniku postępowania ortodontycznego u pacjentów dorosłych, leczonych bez ekstrakcji zębów, a jedynie przez ekspansję łuku zębowego. Metodyka pracy polegała na analizie telerentgenogramów bocznych czaszki przed rozpoczęciem terapii ortodontycznej i po jej zakończeniu. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzono niewielkie zmiany w obrębie profilu struktur kostnych czaszki u pacjentów dorosłych leczonych ortodontycznie bez ekstrakcji zębów w stosunku do sytuacji wyjściowej.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the change in profile of the cranial bone structures arising from orthodontic procedures, in adult patients treated without extraction of teeth, only being treated with expansion of the dental arch. The methodology of the study depended on the analysis of lateral teleroentgenograms of the skull before the commencement of orthodontic treatment and after its completion. In relation to the initial situation, the results of the study showed small changes in the profile of the structure of the bony changes of the skull in adult patients treated orthodontically without extraction of teeth.
