Resorption of root apices of permanent teeth induced by orthodontic treatment – aetiology and diagnostics

Katarzyna Brykczyńska-Wcisło, Beata Rucińska-Grygiel, Krzysztof Woźniak

Streszczenie
W wyniku działania sił powstających podczas leczenia aparatami ortodontycznymi stałymi dochodzi do przebudowy kości wyrostka zębodołowego oraz  w każdym przypadku, najczęściej w niewielkim zakresie, do okołowierzchołkowej resorpcji zapalnej. W pracy omówiono etiologię  i patomechanizm indukowanych ortodontycznie resorpcji korzeni zębów.

Hasła indeksowe: resorpcja korzeni, leczenie ortodontyczne

Summary
As a result of forces generated during treatment with fixed orthodontic appliances remodelling of alveolar bone occurs. Also in every case, most often to a small extent, there arises periapical inflammatory resorption. The study describes the aetiology and pathological mechanisms of orthodontically induced resorption of tooth roots.

Key words: root resorption, orthodontic treatment
