Summary
Clinical use of lasers is ever more frequent in treatment procedures. At present low energy lasers are ever more widely used. There is a growing popularity in aesthetic dentistry with their use. Tooth whitening of teeth with increased sensitivity of dentine is a problem. Reducing hypersensitivity is possible with exposure of the cervical part of the tooth to the light of the diode laser. Studies show that this a good alternative to treatment using chemicals and the process of whitening is faster, more effective and more pleasant for the patient. Whitening procedures with the laser are a procedure that lies in the realm of minimally invasive dentistry, that ensures a high effect in improvement of tooth hue.
Key words: diode laser, tooth whitening, dentine hypersensitivity, biostimulation
