Kwas hialuronowy jest polisacharydem występującym naturalnie w macierzy zewnątrzkomórkowej tkanki łącznej, mazi stawowej i innych tkankach. W związku z właściwościami przeciwzapalnymi, przeciwbakteryjnymi i gojącymi kwas hialuronowy może być stosowany jako uzupełniający związek pomocniczy w leczeniu chorób przyzębia.
W pracy opisano przypadek pacjentki z rozpoznanym agresywnym zapaleniem przyzębia. Po zakończeniu kompleksowego leczenia periodontologicznego w celu poprawy estetyki powstałych „czarnych trójkątów” wstrzyknięto usieciowany kwas hialuronowy ,zgodnie z zasadami techniki trójstopniowej, TST. Prowadzone obserwacje 6-miesięczne wskazują na ostateczną poprawę w przebudowie morfologicznej brodawek międzyzębowych ze wskazaniem na przejściowy efekt całkowitego wypełnienia przestrzeni międzyzębowej.
Niezbędne są dalsze długoterminowe badania kliniczne w celu lepszego poznania i zrozumienia efektów terapeutycznych stosowania kwasu hialuronowego w periodontologii.
Use of hyaluronic acid in periodontology for reconstruction of interdental papillae. Case description
Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide occurring naturally in the extracellular matrix of connective tissue, joint fluid and other tissues. In connection with anti inflammatory properties and antibacterial and healing properties, hyaluronic acid may be used as a supplementary agent in the treatment of periodontal disease.
The study describes a case of a female patient with diagnosed aggressive periodontitis. After completing complex periodontal treatment, with the aim of improving aesthetics after the appearance of ”black triangles”, hyaluronic acid was injected, in accordance with the principles of the three step technique, TST. Six-monthly observations indicate a final improvement in the morphological reconstruction of the interdental papillae. There is a passing effect of complete filling of the interdental space.
Further long term-clinical studies are required, with the aim of getting better knowledge and understanding of the therapeutic effect in using hyaluronic acid in periodontology.
