Peripheral giant cell granuloma – case report

Streszczenie
Obwodowy ziarniniak olbrzymiokomórkowy (PGCG – peripheral giant cell granuloma), zwany również ziarniniakiem olbrzymiokomórkowym zewnątrzkostnym, jest łagodną hiperplastyczną zmianą zapalną powstającą w efekcie działania czynników drażniących bądź urazu. Prawdopodobieństwo rozwoju zmiany wzrasta w przypadku występowania chorób ogólnoustrojowych i osłabienia reakcji odpornościowych organizmu. PGCG wywodzi się z okostnej lub więzadeł przyzębnych. W pracy przedstawiono chirurgiczne postępowanie w przypadku nadziąślaka u 68-letniego mężczyzny, z następowym rozpoznaniem histopatologicznym obwodowego ziarniniaka olbrzymiokomórkowego.

Abstract
Peripheral giant cell granuloma (PGCG) is a benign hyperplastic lesion that can be the effect of chronic local irritation or trauma. General diseases and weakened immunity increase the risk of occurrence of inflammatory lesion. It originates from periosteum or periodontal ligaments. The publication presents the surgical treatment of excision of epulis in 68-year-old patient. PGCG was diagnosed in histopathologic examination.
