Interdisciplinary treatment of advanced teeth abrasion in terms of aesthetic and functional effect – case report

Streszczenie
W artykule opisano przypadek pacjenta z zaawansowanym starciem zębów, z podejrzeniem bruksizmu. W diagnostyce wykorzystano nowoczesne metody, takie jak tomografia wolumetryczna, deprogramacja długoczasowa i krótkoczasowa oraz zastosowanie elektronicznej kalki zwarciowej T-Scan V. Leczenie interdyscyplinarne, mające na celu rekonstrukcję tkanek, pozwoliło uzyskać satysfakcjonujący efekt estetyczny i funkcjonalny, z uwzględnieniem ustawienia żuchwy w relacji centralnej, podpartej stabilną okluzją centralną. Doprowadziło także do zaniku ruchów parafunkcjonalnych.
 
Abstract
This article shows a case report about the treatment of advanced abrasion of teeth, with bruxism suspicion. The use of modern diagnostic tools, such as cone beam computed tomography, long-term and short-term deprogrammers and T-Scan V computerised occlusal analysing system. Cooperation of specialists in various dental disciplines combined to achieve satisfying aesthetic and functional effect, in the form of adjustment of mandible in centric relation compatible to stabile centric occlusion. This kind of multidisciplinary dental treatment has resulted in the disappearance of parafunctional activity.
