„Guided Endodontics” – a novel method of obliterated root canal treatment using CBCT

Streszczenie
Zobliterowane kanały korzeniowe są dużym problemem w leczeniu endodontycznym. W celu zwiększenia skuteczności zabiegów w takich trudnych przypadkach wprowadzono między innymi nowoczesną metodę leczenia opartą na badaniu CBCT – „Guided Endodontics”. Ta technika pozwala na trójwymiarowe projektowanie toru wprowadzenia wiertła i preparacji zęba w celu uzyskania dostępu do ujścia kanałów korzeniowych. W pracy przedstawiono, na podstawie piśmiennictwa, procedurę zabiegu z wykorzystaniem „Guided Endodontics”. Dokonano przeglądu piśmiennictwa, w którym wykorzystano „Guided Endodontics” w sytuacjach klinicznych i w badaniach in vitro.

Abstract
Obliterated root canals are a considerable problem in endodontic treatment. In order to increase the effectiveness of treatments in such difficult cases, a modern method of treatment based on the CBCT study – „Guided Endodontics” has been introduced. This technique allows for a three-dimensional design of the insertion path of the drill and tooth preparation in order to access the root canal orifice. Based on the literature, the paper presents the procedure based on “Guided Endodontics” and reviews the available literature concerning the use of “Guided Endodontics” in clinical situations and in vitro study.
