Biomechanical evaluation of prosthetic abutments in periodontal disease

Streszczenie

Celem terapii protetycznej powinno być postępowanie profilaktyczno-lecznicze prowadzące do odtworzenia braków zębowych oraz prawidłowych kontaktów zwarciowych. Bezurazowa okluzja, zapewniona w prawidłowej wysokości zwarcia, pozwala na uzyskanie harmonii w układzie mięśniowo-stawowym. Podczas oceny wartości filarów w leczeniu protetycznym istotnym czynnikiem jest powierzchnia ozębnej. Głównym wyznacznikiem jest od wielu lat reguła Ante, będąca przez wielu badaczy kwestionowana, jako że dotyczy jedynie zębów ze zdrowym przyzębiem. Niniejsze opracowanie jest próbą zebrania dostępnych w piśmiennictwie wiadomości na temat możliwości biomechanicznego wykorzystania filarów zębowych w przypadkach częściowej utraty podparcia kostnego.

Summary

The aim of prosthetic treatment should be preventative-therapeutic procedure which leads to the restoration of missing teeth and correct restoration of occlusal contacts. Atraumatic occlusion ensured by correct height in the vertical dimension allows for the achievement of harmony in the muscle/joint system. During the evaluation of the abutments in prosthetic treatment, a significant factor is the surface of the periodontium. The main determinant for many years, the Ante’s law, has been questioned by many, as it involves only teeth with healthy periodontium. This study is an attempt to gather information regarding accessible data in the literature about the possibilities of biomechanical use of dental abutments in cases of loss of bony support.
